TCI Engineering

Project Overview

TCI Engineering client in the rubber manufacturing industry required a tailored automation system to optimize the process of boxing rubber bales. The system was designed to load, strap, and weigh rubber bales in wooden containers, meeting precise specifications for bale size, weight, and container dimensions. The solution aimed to enhance the production rate while minimizing downtime and manual intervention.

To design a system capable of handling a capacity of 800 bales per hour, with an alternative rate of 600 bales per hour. The system needed to:

  • Load bales into containers
  • Secure them with lids
  • Apply automatic strapping using two polyester belts
  • Weigh the full container after sealing

Final Solution

TCI Engineering delivered a compact, high-speed automation system designed for reliability and minimal downtime. The solution featured a custom layout with dual robotic loading positions, reducing idle time and maximizing throughput. Two roller conveyor lines handled empty containers, while a central conveyor managed full boxes for continuous operation.

A central robot loaded from both sides and automatically placed lids, supported by an automated strapping unit applying two 16 mm polyester belts per container. An integrated weighing system ensured accurate post-packaging control and consistent quality.

Built with high-grade mechanical components, the system offered durability and seamless workflow transitions. Installation and commissioning were completed with minimal disruption, and final testing confirmed full CE compliance and production readiness.

Final Result

The automated Rubber Bales Boxing System delivered outstanding operational improvements:
This project represents a significant leap in efficiency and automation, setting a new benchmark for high-volume rubber bale packaging operations.
